Belts and Testing Requirment

Before taking a test, please think! (We are kicking and punching, but we train more than that.  The most important thing which we have to learn is controling our emotion and action.  If you do not pay attention much, you will hurt yourself.  Do you cry?  If you upset about your fellow students, do you beat them up?  Sometime we kick and punch harder, but those are for training purpose, and often have to be controled.  Avancing your belt means that you are receiving the next assingment and responsibility in our dojo.  Please act properly!

Japanese Martial Arts is called "Budo". The most important thing in Budo is Manner, and it is called "Rei".  If you missed this Rei, you won't be qualified.  We do not explain each of manners.  But again think about it, what do we care about or what do we learn th rough our training.  If you do so, the answer comes to your mind naturally.)

Testing is the place to confirm what you learn along with your mind, strength, and technique.

You start training with a white belt, then you will take the first test after training for more than 3 months.

In our dojo, belts are changing white to, yellow or yellow line belt, then Orange, blue, green, brown, and black.

If you are doing  well in the test, you may skip a belt, but you may not receive a new belt if the result of the test isn't good.

The frequency of promotion varies depending on the individual's efforts, the amount and quality of practice and the difference in physical abilities. So do not compare it with other people, but please practice it many times to become familiar with each of the lessons whichever a given task or class materials. Also please do self-study before and after dojo practice about what to memorize. Then you can gain the strength and knowledge for the examination naturally. Please practice firmly with dojo practice, especially practice the Kihon (fundamentals) with your whole strength. In addition, dojo is where you train your mind, body and spirit, and it is not just a place to master skills only. Always try to develop a correct mind.

Each belt has its own meaning. If the belt goes up, it is something that you should wish for practicing with responsibility so that it becomes a good example of other students in the lower belt. It is necessary to be able to give guidance for the junior students enough when wearing the green belt / brown belt. Beyond that stage, you are ready to get a black belt.
